This is my Mom. In the beginning of last month, I called the paramedics because she wasn’t able to stand up. She had been having flu like symptoms for a while, but we thought nothing of it. When we arrived at the ER, the doctor examined her and told us that she had somehow acquired a flesh-eating bacteria that was gangrenous, and he said that it was very possible she wasn’t going to live through the night. My Mom endured three emergency surgeries that night, and has pulled through with amazing strength. It’s been almost a month now, and she’s still in the hospital—undergoing reconstructive surgery as I write this. 

She doesn’t know how beautiful she is, she doesn’t understand how much she adds to this world. Her goofy sense of humour, her wit, her love, and her hugs, they all saved my life so many times, and brightened the lives of others. 

I’ve never written anything like this before, but would anyone mind reblogging this to show your support, and to tell her and show her how much she’s loved and appreciated? I know it would mean the world to her.

Your mother is beautiful, amazing, and strong for fighting through something like that. Today, as of two hours ago, is Mothers’ Day—what better day to reblog this to show support. I wish her the best.

omg I wasn’t going to post this or any of the many, many, many other Liara/Javik doodles I have in my sketch PSD for a long time since it needs to be cleaned up, but then I found these two RP blogs on top of all the other L/J love that’s been going around lately and…I just fucking can’t…aaaaaugh. I’m about to die from happiness at the fact there are actually more than 5 people that actively ship my OTP for once. (I’m much more of a fan of platonic relationships in general; it’s rare that I participate in ‘shipping’ and when I do, I usually fall for some niche pairing no one likes lmfao /cries)

Next post will be something different, if only so my blog doesn’t appear quite as batshit when I have to look at it lolol. It will still involve Javik, though, because I don’t need an excuse to post more Javik.

I recently posted on twitter about how I felt videogames were art.

99 percent of the people who replied agreed.

One guy commented saying I was wrong, that it was a misconception, and that games were a form of entertainment, and art wasn’t entertainment.

I replied saying “Eh, I get entertainment from music, pretty sure that’s art.”

Their reply was “Another misinterpretation. Music is not art.”

I pretty much gave up on the discussion there.

I’m sure in some thick textbook somewhere, there is proof that he was in the right. But in my head and in my heart, there’s proof otherwise. 

I think the dictionary has several definitions of art:

The employment of means to accomplish some desired end; the adaptation of things in the natural world to the uses oflife; the application of knowledge or power to practical purposes.

A system of rules serving to facilitate the performance of certain actions; a system of principles and rules for attaining adesired end; method of doing well some special work; - often contradistinguished from science or speculative principles;as, the art of building or engraving; the art of war; the art of navigation.

The application of skill to the production of the beautiful by imitation or design, or an occupation in which skill is soemployed, as in painting and sculpture; one of the fine arts;
